Breeding - Litters - A-Litter

The chosen stud dog already fascinated us last year when we saw him for the first time in Hungary. His charisma, calmness and dedication to his owner are amazing. He is an experienced but not too often used stud dog with excellent pigments, with a gorgeous coat and has a strong and tall figure. He achieved his approval for breeding in Hungary and has been shown successfully near his hometown.

Besides the harmonic and impressive outer appearance he represents characteristics which played an important role in our decision: full of spirits, but still balanced, friendly, but not importunate, proud, but not inapproachable.
He lives the life of a spoiled family dog in the positive sense of the word, which means he enjoys extensive daily walks off leash; he does not live in a kennel, grew up with the kids of the family and has contact to other kids. In his first years his owner frequently went to a dog school with him. The bond between dog and his owner can even be seen on the pictures. He also lives in quiet and peace together with another unneutered male and has social contacts to other dogs on his walks.

When we visited him with Duna last December in his home to see if the two get along, you could see right from beginning they liked each other and were very harmonious. Duna showed her best side and was looking for his attention, which she then got. He was already waiting for us in front of the house and allowed us to come in without any issue. He accepted us in the house and allowed us to touch him. His main focus though definitely was on Duna and his owner who means the world to him. Among Kuvasz owners in Hungary you hardly see such a mutual trust and inner bond to the dog.

Even though the dog was already PRA tested, the examination had to be repeated for the rigorous German breeding guidelines since the first sample was taken from saliva. We are very grateful that the owner of the dog went through the extra burden and had his dog tested again with a sample of blood sent to Laboklin. The result remained the same: PRA-Carrier. Since Duna is PRA-Normal/Clear it fits perfectly.

Then the owner was faced with another challenge, the so called DOK-Test, a special test to find out if the male is free of hereditary eye diseases. The owner had to drive 200km, even though he does not really like longer trips by car and definitely is not used to them. The result was great! He is free of all tested eye diseases and the examining doctor was impressed by the dog, he never before examined such a quiet and friendly Kuvasz without any safety precautions.

His hips have been rated with an “A” by the Hungarian Association of veterinary Orthopedy.
